PAESEMUSEO
Over 400 pieces of contemporary art are hidden in the streets of San Sperate, an open-air museum that can be visited freely 365 days a year. Wall paintings, sculptures, site-specific installations--even the roads themselves are painted. The colorful landscape is continuously evolving.

THE MONUMENTS
Every single space, building, and materials were repurposed and transformed throughout the years. Following just some of the centuries-old buildings that have a historical significance.

GIARDINO SONORO
The “Giardino Sonoro “ (Sound Garden) is an open-air museum created by the artist Pinuccio Sciola, inside a citrus fruit plot. It’s a charming place where art and nature are harmonized in an indissoluble blend. There you can admire a sort of retrospective artwork created by the brilliant mind of a world-famous sculptor, showcasing his artistic career.

GIARDINO FANTASTICO
Visiting the Giardino Fantastico (fantastic garden) is like a dreamlike journey through numerous multi-material pieces of art, mainly made of day-to-day and recycled materials

RESIDENT ARTISTS
The concentration of artists and craftsmen is quite impressive for a small village such as San Sperate. Some scientific observers are doing research about unique properties of the tap water or volatile substances in the air of San Sperate. All kidding aside, the quality of the work is very high. Following some of those in the business that are open to show their artworks to visitors.

THE FRUITS OF THE EARTH
San Sperate is well known for his soil fertility, perfect climatic conditions, and the water from the nearby rivers that make it one of the most important agricultural centers in Sardinia. Citrus fruits and peaches (even more so) are renowned for their quality.
